A quieter area away from the hustle and bustle of the main city, venture to Bang-Pa-In, a waterside, gothic, Thai Chinese style palace frequented by King Rama IV during hot summer months. Observe the intricate carvings and the red watch tower that overlooks the lake. Continue north to Ayutthaya to explore ancient temple ruins that once were Thailand’s largest and most significant settlement. Hop aboard a boat to take you back to Bangkok and enjoy a Thai international buffet dinner on the water, surrounded by the stunning greenery of rice paddy fields, traditional Thai architecture and finally the iconic urban skyline of Bangkok.

Start your day being chauffeured to the Ratchaburi Province where you’ll stop to observe the unique Mae Klong railway market on the way. The unique market, set out on railway tracks is also called Talad Rom Hoop which roughly translates to, “closing an umbrella” and this is precisely what it does when a train passes through. Observe as vendors hurriedly pack up their produce in an impressive and ongoing dance as the train hurtles past every so often. Keeping in theme, continue onto the floating markets, referring to an era when waterborne travel was the dominant form of transportation. Purchase fresh fruit, flowers, clothing and souvenirs, among other products, while you float along the waterways in a paddle boat, which you can rent at your own expense. From there, venture across a bridge to the Lao Tuk Luck Market, formerly known as the Old Damnoen Saduak Market, which showcases a more authentic Thai style of buying and selling. This market is over 100 years old and adheres to its traditional ways.
