Thailand has year-round warm weather but varies depending on the season and the region. March to May is the hot season with temperatures soring to 40°C inland in areas like Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Coastal areas experience similar temperatures but are slightly cooler.
The rainy season is between June to October and generally experiences torrential rain during the day. Thailand’s western and central regions receive the heaviest downpours due to the southwest monsoon, bringing the most rain to coastal areas like Phuket and Krabi, while the northeast region is drier.
November to February is Thailand’s cold season with comfortable and enjoyable temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C across most regions, but cooler evenings in northern areas such as Chiang Mai, making it a popular time to travel.
